Burma Charity has successfully hosted an exciting football match on 28th of September 2008 to raise funds and public awareness for Cyclone Nargis which struck the delta and lower regions of Myanmar (Burma) in last May.

We heartily thank over 70 players from 6 Burmese football teams (such as Cricklewood, Helping Hands, United Colour, Hanwell, GMSUK and BSO), over 40 visitors and donors who came to support our event and raised funds for Nargis Cyclone victims. As a fundraising event, Burma Chairy has donated all the collected funds for Nargis victims to Sitagu Sayadaw Ashin Nyanissara on the day of event.

Venerable Sitagu Sayadaw Ashin Nyanissara delivered an interesting Dhamma Talk about his significant experience with helping the survivors of the Nargis Cyclone, which struck the delta and lower regions of Myanmar in last May.

Sayadaw is one of those who reached to the disaster area at first hand to provide the necessities such as food, shelter, clothing and medication to a number of poor victims. Since then, Sayadaw has been making plans to prolong the supplies for the refugees in both physical and mental recoveries and reconstructions. This event held on 28th September 2008 at Brentside High School, Ealing and audiences got the clear vision of what has been done and what still needs to be done in the remotest areas of the Myanmar Delta region. All of your given salary will be collected for charity funds and all the necessary documents and reports of your donation will be provided.

Burma Charity has started out the very successful event on 20th July 2008 at Chiswick Town Hall, London. This event was to raise funds for victims of Burma devastating cyclone and to give a message that it’s a long way to recovery for victims of cyclone.
