About
Burma Charity is a humanitarian aid charity for Burmese people in need. The idea about Burma Charity was launched right after Nargis cyclone-hit in 2008 May on Burma delta regions where thousands of people were left hopelessly without shelters, food and water for several days.
Tending to relieve the miseries of helpless victims, young Myanmar nationalities from UK cooperate together to provide the necessities to those who are subject to unavoidable mishap in an efficacious way.
Accomplishing such kind of events is not easy for longer term and as a matter of fact, Burma Charity is recruiting enthusiastic volunteers to prolong the financial rotation cost-effectively.
In return, Burma Charity issues donation certificates to all the generous donors, volunteers and also reports the donor lists and accounts on annual basis.
Vision
By recognizing that practices of generosity, compassion and loving kindness can change lives of deprived, marginalized and mentally and physically sick people and by helping them transcend their hardships, Burma Charity UK will continue to spread its message – “All joy, happiness and peace are the consequences of cherishing the well being of other sentient beings”.
Mission
Burma Charity UK is a United Kingdom based charity committed in helping the deprived, marginalized, mentally and physically sick children and adults in Burma transcend their hardships and realize full potential in their societies. It aims to achieve its mission by bringing positive energy and resources together and directing them in areas of health and micro credit.
We demonstrate this by:
- acknowledging the fact that understanding is the ground of loving kindness and sharing
- advocating the fact generosity helps in creating compassionate communities
- disseminating vital information and increasing awareness regarding diseases, food and nutrition
- community participation
- creating partnerships with similar organizations in UK and program countries, Burma (Myanmar)
- helping in micro-enterprise projects
In doing all these, we are committed to values like understanding, tolerance, sensitivity, compassion, and honesty.
